An earthquake has been recorded in the Lerik region of Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the information was provided by the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center.

The seismic event occurred at 19:24 local time. The earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 3.6, had its epicenter at a depth of 24 kilometers.

According to the report, the tremors were felt by local residents in the area. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been released following the event.

Azerbaijan is located in a seismically active zone, situated within the Alpine-Himalayan seismic belt. The Republican Seismic Survey Center, operating under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, continuously monitors seismic activity across the country to provide timely data and ensure public safety during natural disasters.
