Earthquake recorded on border of Lerik and Lankaran districts

An earthquake has been recorded on the border between the Lerik and Lankaran districts in Azerbaijan.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Republican Seismic Survey Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the seismic event registered a magnitude of 3.0.

The tremor occurred at a depth of 31 kilometers. There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties resulting from the seismic activity in the region.

Azerbaijan is located in a seismically active zone, particularly along the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus mountain range. The Republican Seismic Survey Center maintains a network of monitoring stations across the country to track seismic activity and provide real-time data to the public and relevant government agencies, ensuring preparedness for potential geological events.
