US President Donald Trump has issued a firm statement regarding Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's recent apology, characterizing the move as a formal capitulation. The US leader noted that Iran, currently facing severe internal and external pressures, has apologized to its neighbors in the Middle East, effectively signaling a surrender of its regional ambitions.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of the White House shared these remarks on the Truth Social platform. US President Donald Trump emphasized that the shift in Tehran's stance is a direct result of the firm positioning by Washington and its allies. "Iran has promised not to fire on its neighbors again. This promise was only made thanks to the relentless pressure from the United States and Israel. They wanted to take over and dominate the Middle East. This is the first time in thousands of years that Iran has been defeated by the surrounding regional countries," Trump stated.

The development follows an address by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Temporary Leadership Council on March 7, where he confirmed an apology to neighboring countries targeted by Iranian strikes. Pezeshkian noted that the Council has made a definitive decision to cease attacks on neighboring states. According to the agreement, as long as these countries do not launch attacks against Iran, official Tehran will refrain from further missile strikes.

This diplomatic shift comes amid a period of heightened volatility in the Middle East, where the United States has consistently advocated for regional stability and the protection of its allies. The statement by US President Donald Trump underscores a significant change in the geopolitical landscape, suggesting a weakening of Iran's long-standing policy of regional interventionism. Observers note that such a public admission from Tehran could lead to a de-escalation of military tensions, provided all parties adhere to the newly established non-aggression framework.
