Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has won the “All-Time Ballon d’Or” ranking, the award’s official website said.
Ronaldo’s 2008 Ballon d’Or award took first place. It finished ahead of awards won by Barcelona player Lionel Messi and Liverpool player Fernando Torres in the vote.
The nomination featured footballers who have won the Ballon d’Or multiple times. The list included Lionel Messi (8), Cristiano Ronaldo (5), Johan Cruyff (3), Michel Platini (3), Marco van Basten (3), Alfredo Di Stefano (2), Franz Beckenbauer (2), Kevin Keegan (2), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (2) and Ronaldo (2).
The organizers said the main criterion was not the total number of Ballon d’Or awards won by a player, but the significance of the season in which the player received the award to his career. Fans selected the winner in a global paid online vote. Each vote cost 1 euro.
