China and other nations have the potential to serve as mediators in the Middle East to resolve ongoing regional tensions.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made these remarks during an interview with the Al Jazeera television channel. Araghchi emphasized that several countries, including China, possess the diplomatic capacity to act as intermediaries in the current regional conflicts.

The Foreign Minister pointed to the successful restoration of diplomatic ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia as a primary example of Beijing's effective diplomacy. He noted that China mediated positively between the two nations and affirmed that both sides remain committed to the agreements reached under that framework. Araghchi added that Tehran is open to constructive dialogue, stating, "We will listen to any proposal that meets our requirements and aligns with our conditions."

China's involvement in Middle Eastern diplomacy has grown significantly in recent years, marking a shift toward a more active role in global conflict resolution. In March 2023, Beijing brokered a landmark deal to normalize relations between Tehran and Riyadh, ending years of diplomatic freeze. This growing influence is seen by analysts as part of China's broader strategy to ensure regional stability, which is vital for its global economic initiatives and energy security.
