Iranian neighbors must acknowledge the failure of the United States to ensure their security and should support Tehran's demand for the immediate withdrawal of American troops from the region.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made these remarks in a message directed toward Saudi Arabia.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi stated: "Iran respects Saudi Arabia and considers it a brotherly country. Our actions are directed against aggressive enemies who respect neither Arabs nor Iranians and are unable to provide any security guarantees." He further emphasized that it is time for American forces to leave the region entirely.
The statement comes amid ongoing regional tensions and efforts by Tehran to recalibrate its diplomatic relations with Gulf neighbors. Historically, Iran has consistently viewed the presence of Western military forces in the Middle East as a primary source of instability and a threat to its national interests. This call for withdrawal aligns with Iran's long-standing foreign policy objective of establishing a regional security framework led by local states rather than external powers.
