Brighton beat Brentford 2-0 in the 10th round of the English Premier League. In the match played on November 8 at the American Express Community Stadium in Falmer, Brighton capitalised on the visitors being reduced to 10 men.
Diego Gomez put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute. Brentford forward Igor Thiago was sent off in the 23rd minute for a foul.
Midfielder Pascal Gross converted a penalty in the 42nd minute to double Brighton’s lead.
After the win, Brighton sit second in the Premier League with 22 points, five behind leaders Arsenal. Brentford are eighth with 14 points.
