Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held an expanded meeting.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the meeting was announced on the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s (MFA) account on X.
The ministers said that high-level dialogue, mutual trust and friendship between the two peoples are key drivers of bilateral relations.
They welcomed the rapid development of the comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2025. They said important agreements reached during the Azerbaijani president’s state visit to China provide a strong foundation for expanding ties between the two countries. The ministers also noted that Azerbaijan and China will mark the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2027.
The ministers discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade and the economy, investment, energy, transport, logistics and connectivity. They highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as a key link between Asia and Europe, as well as the growing importance of the Middle Corridor in strengthening regional and interregional ties.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to mutual support within the United Nations, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and other international platforms.
They also exchanged views on regional security and recent developments. The ministers stressed the importance of sustained dialogue, diplomatic contacts and multilateral cooperation in addressing current challenges.
Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the peace process with Armenia and Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery and reconstruction efforts in territories liberated from occupation.
