Flights scheduled by Azerbaijan Airlines for October 9 on routes J2-185/J2-186 Baku–Moscow (Domodedovo)–Baku and J2-805/J2-806 Baku–Moscow (Vnukovo)–Baku have been disrupted by restrictions imposed in Russian airspace.

The press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC told the Operative Information Center-OMM that the morning J2-185 flight from Baku to Moscow made an unscheduled landing in St. Petersburg.

The airline said the aircraft could not return to Baku because restrictions were imposed in the airspace again.

“The morning J2-805 flight from Baku to Moscow also returned to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The restrictions have affected the aircraft’s ability to reach their destination airports on time and operate subsequent flights. As a result, the evening J2-186 and J2-806 flights scheduled on the respective routes have also been postponed. Azerbaijan’s national carrier is closely monitoring the situation and taking steps to provide passengers with the necessary support. Passengers will be informed of changes to the flight schedule through official information channels. Passenger and flight safety remain Azerbaijan Airlines’ top priorities. All operational decisions are being made in view of the prevailing circumstances and safety requirements,” the statement said.
