Barcelona has resumed work on a move for Inter’s 27-year-old defender Alessandro Bastoni. According to Sky Sport journalist Sasha Tavolieri, the Catalan club is in contact with the Italian player’s representatives and considers him its top priority to strengthen the defence.
Barcelona agreed terms with Bastoni last summer on a contract through 2031. However, the transfer did not go ahead after head coach Hansi Flick decided against it.
Bastoni is interested in the move, but wants to meet Flick in person and receive assurances about his role in the team before negotiations resume.
Inter is seeking about 70 million euros for the defender. The Milan club has also offered Bastoni an extension to his current contract, but the player’s representatives have not agreed to the terms.
