The Baku City State Traffic Police Department has issued an appeal to drivers ahead of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the “Operative Information Center-OMM” that traffic restrictions would be introduced on some streets and avenues in connection with the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which begins tomorrow.
To ensure road safety and prevent traffic congestion, particularly at the southern entrance to the capital, drivers are asked to take note of the following recommendations:
“Those traveling from the south toward the city center are advised, instead of using the Azneft and Neftchilar roundabouts, to take the third outer ring road from the 14th kilometer of the Baku-Salyan highway toward the Lokbatan roundabout, passing through the 20 Yanvar or Yeni Yasamal areas. Residents of the 20th District and Bayil settlement are also advised to use the settlement’s internal roads, traveling via Gurban Abbasov Street and then along Teymur Elchin, Mehdi Huseyn and Lermontov streets toward the city center. In addition, road users are asked to minimize the use of private cars during the race and travel to the central part of the city only by public transport whenever possible.”
The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is held on the Baku City Circuit, a street track in the capital’s central area. Temporary traffic arrangements are introduced during the event to support the race and maintain public safety.
