Azerbaijani clubs await opponents for UEFA competition draws

Azerbaijani football clubs will discover their potential opponents for the third qualifying round of European competitions today. The draws for the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League will determine the paths for the country's representatives as they aim to advance in the prestigious continental tournaments.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the process begins with the UEFA Champions League draw at 14:00 Baku time. Sabah, which is set to face Finland's KuPS in the second qualifying round, will be in the unseeded pot. The club's potential opponents for the third round include the winners of matchups such as Larne (Northern Ireland) vs. Crvena Zvezda (Serbia) and Thun (Switzerland) vs. Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia). Meanwhile, Qarabag, competing in the UEFA Europa League, will be seeded for their draw at 15:00 Baku time, following their upcoming second-round clash against Bulgaria's CSKA.

In the UEFA Conference League, Neftchi and Zira will also learn their potential paths. Both clubs are currently in the unseeded pot. Neftchi is preparing for a second-round match against Dinamo Minsk (Belarus), while Zira is set to face Paide (Estonia). The third qualifying round matches for the Champions League are scheduled for August 4-5 and August 11, while the Europa League and Conference League fixtures are slated for August 6 and 13. These competitions are vital for the development of Azerbaijani football, providing clubs with international experience and the opportunity to represent the nation on the European stage.
