The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has switched to an enhanced working regime in connection with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula 1.
The ministry told the “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
Police officers are continuing to serve under the enhanced regime during the restrictions introduced in Baku for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from Sept. 23 to 26, 2026. The measures aim to ensure the safe arrival of drivers and pedestrians at their destinations, uninterrupted traffic flow and security at the race venue and in the “Fan” zones.
“Drivers and Baku residents are advised to use public transport during the specified period, properly follow signals given by police officers acting as traffic regulators, and plan their journeys using alternative routes to streets and avenues where restrictions have been imposed,” the statement said.
Formula 1 races in Baku are held on a street circuit in the capital, requiring temporary traffic arrangements and additional security measures around the track and designated fan areas.
