The decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev pardoning a number of convicted individuals has been implemented at Penitentiary Institutions No. 2 and No. 17 of the Penitentiary Service.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that four Azerbaijani citizens have been released from these institutions.
The pardon decree signed today applies to 20 people. Of them, 19 were serving prison sentences, while one had been sentenced to restriction of liberty.

The implementation of the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on “Pardoning a number of convicted individuals” has begun.
According to “Operative Information Center-OMM”, the decree has begun to be implemented at institutions of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
Under the decree, 19 people sentenced to imprisonment and one person sentenced to restriction of liberty have been released from serving the unserved portions of their sentences.
Presidential pardon decrees are implemented by the relevant state institutions in accordance with the terms set out in each decree. Such measures may provide for the full or partial release of eligible individuals from their sentences.
