The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) has adopted in its third and final reading a regulation setting new working rules for windy weather.
The proposed amendments to the Labour Code were discussed at today’s parliamentary session, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
Under the draft, workers at outdoor workplaces, including facilities at those sites, will be given breaks and work will be suspended according to established procedures during windy conditions.
When wind strength is between 6 and 8 on the Beaufort scale, work with cranes operated on land will be allowed only in the circumstances specified in the cranes’ technical passports. If wind strength exceeds 8, all work involving those cranes must be suspended.
After discussions, lawmakers put the bill to a vote and adopted it in its third reading.
