Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (National Assembly) has adopted at first reading regulations setting new rules for work in windy weather.
The proposed amendments to the Labor Code were discussed at today’s parliamentary session, the Operative Information Center-OMM reported.
Under the draft, workers at open-air workplaces, including facilities at those sites, would be given breaks in accordance with established procedures, and work would be suspended when weather conditions require it.
The draft also allows work with land-based cranes when wind strength is between six and eight points, where the cranes’ technical specifications permit it. If wind strength exceeds eight points, all work involving those cranes must be suspended.
The bill was put to a vote following debate and passed at first reading. The Labor Code sets out workplace requirements in Azerbaijan, while the proposed amendments address protections for employees working outdoors in windy conditions.
