The “2027–2032 State Program on Ensuring Food Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan” has been approved.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to this effect.
Under the order, the “2027–2032 State Program on Ensuring Food Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan” (hereinafter, the State Program) was approved and attached to the document.
The Cabinet of Ministers must address the issues arising from the order.
The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency must coordinate the implementation of the measures envisaged in the State Program and oversee their execution. It must also report to the President of Azerbaijan once a year on the implementation status of the measures.
The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication must monitor and evaluate the implementation of the measures envisaged in the State Program at the request of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy, together with the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, must take appropriate measures each year to allocate the necessary funds for implementing the State Program during the preparation of the state budget and state investment programs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The State Program is intended to provide a coordinated framework for food safety policy in Azerbaijan for 2027–2032. Its implementation will involve government bodies responsible for regulation, financing, monitoring and evaluation across the food supply chain.
