Liverpool's Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister could be set to continue his career in Spain. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the "Ole" publication, Atletico Madrid has expressed serious interest in securing the services of the talented player.
Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone is reportedly insistent on adding the Argentine international to his squad. The manager believes that Mac Allister's playing style is perfectly suited to his tactical setup and has urged the club's management to prioritize the transfer.
The competition for the midfielder extends beyond Atletico Madrid, as Spanish giants Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation and have expressed their own desire to sign the player. This potential tug-of-war highlights Mac Allister's rising stock in European football following his successful stint in the Premier League.
Currently, the player's market value is estimated to be around 80 million euros. It is worth noting that Mac Allister's current contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2028, meaning any potential suitor would likely need to negotiate a significant transfer fee to secure his release from the English club.
