President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of an orthopedic mattress production facility operated by Komfy LLC at Aghdam Industrial Park on November 7.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Komfy LLC Director Fuad Najafov briefed the head of state on the facility.
Komfy LLC was granted resident status at Aghdam Industrial Park in 2024. The facility has an annual production capacity of 130,000 mattresses. It will produce mattresses of various sizes, designs and firmness levels, as well as Bonnell and pocket spring systems. The facility will be the first in Azerbaijan to manufacture mattresses in a “roll-pack” format, in which they are compressed and packed into rolls. This will reduce transportation costs and expand export opportunities. The products are intended for sale in Azerbaijan and other countries.
The facility will also produce mattresses tailored to the requirements of local and foreign hotels. It will provide permanent jobs for 65 people. The project, valued at 2.5 million manats, was financed through private investment and a 700,000-manat loan backed by a state guarantee from the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy. As a resident of the industrial park, the facility has been exempted from 114,000 manats in value-added tax and customs duties.
Aghdam Industrial Park, established by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev in 2021, covers 190 hectares. A total of 39 enterprises have been registered there: 37 residents and two non-residents. The projects are valued at 375.5 million manats, with 192.6 million manats in investment already made. More than 1,000 people are currently employed across the projects. The residents’ total sales have reached 2.96 billion manats, while exports have amounted to 132.6 million manats.
