Neftchi player Adeleke Akinyemi shared his thoughts after his team beat Shamakhi 3-2 away in the 10th round of the Misli Premier League.
The forward said he was pleased with the win and had tried to give his all on the pitch. Neftchi have approached every match with the aim of winning since the start of the championship, and the team have strong belief, he said.
Akinyemi said he hoped they would win the title: “God willing, we will become champions.” He also noted that the match in Shamakhi had been difficult.
“Sometimes that is how football goes. You face difficulties. But we believe until the end. We will do our best,” the forward said.
After the win, Neftchi moved to the top of the standings with 21 points.
