AC Milan's new head coach, Ruben Amorim, has taken his first steps toward strengthening the team's squad for the 2026-2027 season.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Italian publication Tuttosport, the manager has prioritized signing a new center-forward to bolster the team's attacking options.
Following discussions between the Italian club's management and the head coach, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Goncalo Ramos has emerged as the primary transfer target. The French club currently values the 24-year-old forward at approximately 40 million euros.
Despite the valuation, AC Milan management intends to negotiate a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option in 2027. The club plans to utilize the services of renowned agent Jorge Mendes to facilitate the transfer negotiations. Given Mendes' strong professional relationships with both clubs, there is optimism regarding the potential success of the deal.
Last season, Goncalo Ramos recorded 12 goals and two assists in 45 official matches. Should negotiations with PSG prove unsuccessful, AC Milan has prepared a contingency plan, with the club's management reportedly considering Al-Hilal forward Darwin Nunez as an alternative option.
The pursuit of a high-profile striker underscores AC Milan's ambition to remain competitive in Serie A and European competitions under Amorim's new leadership. The club is looking to revitalize its offensive strategy as it prepares for the upcoming campaign.
