The construction of the wall along the US-Mexico border is nearing completion, with the project expected to be finalized in 2027.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin announced that if work continues according to the current schedule, the primary border wall stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico will be completed by this time in 2027.

Mullin stated that the project involves a comprehensive system consisting of primary and secondary barriers. In certain areas, these walls will be positioned between 18 and 46 meters apart. The infrastructure will be equipped with advanced sensors installed both on the barriers and underground to enhance detection capabilities.

The Secretary added that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will also be deployed to monitor and track individuals attempting to cross the border illegally, further strengthening the security perimeter.

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump first introduced the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico as one of his primary campaign promises during the 2016 presidential election. The initiative has remained a central pillar of his administration's border security strategy, aimed at curbing unauthorized migration and enhancing national border control measures.
