The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that US forces successfully neutralized a series of one-way attack drones launched by Iran, which were targeting commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, US forces intercepted and destroyed all the unmanned aerial vehicles within the last few hours. The incident did not disrupt maritime traffic in the strait, and CENTCOM confirmed in its statement that the international trade corridor remains open for navigation.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, through which a significant portion of the global oil supply passes. Tensions in the region have frequently escalated, impacting international shipping security and prompting increased military vigilance from Western powers and their allies.

While military tensions persist in the region, diplomatic channels between Washington and Tehran remain a focus of international attention. US President Donald Trump recently indicated that a potential agreement with Iran is nearing completion, with work on the final text currently underway. Similarly, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commented on the ongoing negotiations, suggesting that peace has rarely been closer. Despite these diplomatic efforts, the military situation in the region remains volatile.
