A ship sank after an unmanned aerial vehicle attack off the coast of Bulgaria.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing Reuters.
Eleven sailors aboard the ship went missing after the incident, while five crew members were rescued.
Bulgarian authorities said two cargo ships were attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles overnight and that one of them sank.
Bulgaria has not directly accused Russia of carrying out the attacks, but Prime Minister Rumen Radev said their consequences served Russia’s interests.
“This is completely unacceptable: another attack has taken place in the immediate vicinity of Bulgaria’s territorial waters,” Radev said.
Bulgarian media reported that one of the ships targeted was the cargo vessel Azov Concord.
Another vessel, the Malta-flagged Chelsea 3, was also attacked by three unmanned aerial vehicles overnight. All seven Ukrainian and eight Azerbaijani citizens aboard were rescued. No one was seriously injured.
Moscow has not yet commented on the incidents, while Ukraine and the European Union have condemned the attacks.
