US Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach has issued a detailed statement on Operation Epic Fury against Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that official US Air Force resources provided the information, citing the Air, Space and Cyber Conference organized by the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA).

According to the report, the 38-day operation will be subject to extensive analysis by military experts because of its scale, precision and speed. The general said US Air Force personnel in the Middle East were placed on “Alarm Red” more than 1,200 times during Iranian missile and maritime drone attacks. During the fighting, operations were carried out to restore 48 runways at bases and neutralize more than 420 unexploded ordnance items.

Gen. Wilsbach emphasized that an air fleet of approximately 500 combat aircraft conducted 10,000 sorties in total and maintained a pace of more than 250 sorties per day. More than 13,000 Iranian military facilities and targets were struck as part of the operation. Despite this, Iranian retaliatory strikes largely depleted the stockpiles of interceptor missiles at US bases in the region and seriously affected the operation’s logistics.

It was reported that the “Alarm Red” status is declared within the US Air Force when an air attack is imminent or has already begun, requiring personnel to immediately move to shelters. Saying that the nature of warfare has changed, Wilsbach announced that the new Point Defense Weapon System had begun to be deployed to strengthen the ground-based protection of military bases.
