"I received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. This is the minister's first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion," stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his X account, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM.
President Zelensky noted that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov began his visit in the city of Irpin, where he toured a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center operating with support from Azerbaijan.
"I express my deep gratitude to you for finding the opportunity to come to Ukraine and show your support during these difficult days for our country and our people. Thank you for standing in solidarity with our people," Zelensky added.
During the discussions, President Zelensky briefed the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister on the ongoing Russian attacks against Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and the blockade of grain corridors. The two sides also discussed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense partnerships, and economic cooperation in the energy, oil and gas, and agricultural sectors.
Zelensky concluded by expressing his appreciation to Azerbaijan for its continued support, including energy and humanitarian aid, and for the constructive dialogue maintained between the two nations. Azerbaijan has consistently provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including power transformers and generators, to help the country maintain critical infrastructure amid the ongoing conflict.
