Heavy traffic congestion has been observed on several main roads and avenues in Baku during the morning hours. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) reported significant delays on key arterial routes connecting the city center with surrounding districts.
The ITMC noted that the following roads in the capital are currently experiencing high levels of traffic: the Baku–Sumgait highway towards the "20 January" metro station; Tbilisi Avenue from the "20 January" metro station towards the center; Yusif Safarov Street towards the center; Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue; Airport Highway towards the "Koroghlu" metro station; the 1st Shore road towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue; Ali Mustafayev Street towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue; Ziya Bunyadov Avenue from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station; 8 November Avenue from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center; Binagadi Highway towards the "Azadlig Avenue" metro station; and the main road of Heydar Aliyev Avenue towards the city center.
Traffic management in Baku is a priority for urban authorities as the city continues to expand its infrastructure. The Intelligent Transport Management Center regularly monitors road conditions using a network of cameras and sensors to provide real-time updates to commuters. These measures are part of Azerbaijan's broader efforts to improve urban mobility and reduce transit times in the capital, which serves as the country's primary economic and administrative hub.
