A tanker reported being struck by two unidentified projectiles off the coast of Oman on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency, citing the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre.
The incident took place at 1900 GMT, about 14 nautical miles northeast of Limah. The tanker’s company security officer said both projectiles hit the engine room, UKMTO said.
No casualties or environmental impact were reported. The agency did not identify the vessel or say where the projectiles came from.
UKMTO advised vessels to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity while authorities investigate.
