An attempt to smuggle goods from Azerbaijan to Georgia has been foiled.
The State Border Service provided the information to Operative Information Center-OMM.
At the “Red Bridge” state border crossing, border guards selected two MAN trucks travelling from Azerbaijan toward Georgia for a secondary inspection.
Although the cargo documents listed gypsum, the inspection uncovered 240 units (24 kilograms) of hookah tobacco, 1,119 automotive spare parts and 40 tonnes of diesel fuel.
Operational and investigative measures are continuing in connection with the case.
