Authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan.

The State Border Service provided the information to Operative Information Center-OMM.

It said officers foiled the smuggling of drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan in the service area of the Lankaran Border Guard Detachment of the Border Troops.

Border searches and operational measures conducted on October 18 led to the discovery and seizure of 6 kilograms and 485 grams of drugs.

Operational and investigative measures are continuing in connection with the case.
