Restoration work has commenced to repair a collapse in the internal sewage collector located in the Sabunchu district of Baku. The project specifically targets the rehabilitation of the wastewater infrastructure within the tunnel on A. Asadullayev Street, ensuring the full restoration of the line's functionality.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these measures are being implemented in accordance with a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev. The presidential order mandates a comprehensive action plan to eliminate the consequences of damage caused by recent heavy rains and flash floods that affected both the capital and various other regions across Azerbaijan.
Infrastructure modernization remains a key priority for the Cabinet of Ministers as Azerbaijan continues to upgrade its urban utility systems to better withstand extreme weather events. Recent climate patterns in the region have led to increased precipitation, prompting the government to allocate additional resources for the reinforcement of drainage and sewage networks in Baku and its surrounding suburban areas to ensure public safety and environmental protection.
