The draw for the UEFA Champions League playoff round has officially taken place.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the ceremony was held today at 14:00 Baku time in Nyon, Switzerland.
The draw has determined the potential opponents for the Azerbaijani champion, Sabah. Should the Masazir-based club successfully overcome the hurdle of Denmark's Aarhus in the current qualifying round, they will face the winner of the tie between Hapoel Be'er Sheva (Israel) and Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) in the playoff stage.
It should be noted that the first leg matches of the UEFA Champions League playoff round are scheduled for August 18-19, with the return legs set to take place on August 25-26. The UEFA Champions League remains the premier club football tournament in Europe, serving as a critical platform for Azerbaijani clubs to gain international experience and improve their standing in the UEFA coefficient rankings.
