Russia’s Defense Ministry has said that Nesterne, Rublenoye and Vysokaya Yaruga in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region have come under the control of Russian forces.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Russian military said Nesterne and Rublenoye were captured during offensive operations, while units of the “North” grouping of forces took Vysokaya Yaruga.
The statement also said fighting was continuing in the direction of the settlement of Prikolotnoye in the Kharkiv region.
According to the report, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently claimed that Ukrainian armed forces units had been surrounded in the northeastern part of the Kharkiv region. He said the move was intended to push the line of contact farther from border areas of Russia’s Belgorod region.
The claims have not been independently verified. The Kharkiv region has seen fighting during Russia’s war against Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
