Portugal forward Gonçalo Ramos commented on the situation involving Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal’s 4-2 Nations League victory over Denmark, saying it had not affected the team’s performance.
“It didn’t affect us. We want to win every match, and we managed to do that today,” Ramos said, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Ronaldo left Portugal’s training camp a day before the match. The 41-year-old forward departed Denmark on a private jet after a news conference by head coach Jorge Jesus and a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.
Ronaldo later said he would tell the truth about the reasons for his decision when the time was right.
