Russian President Vladimir Putin has welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s readiness to contribute to resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement.
According to the report, during contacts in New Delhi, the foreign leaders expressed close interest in the Ukraine issue and said their countries were ready to play a role in resolving the conflict if necessary. Kremlin spokesman Peskov said President Putin viewed these initiatives very positively.
Putin also briefed his partners in detail on the latest developments in the conflict settlement process during bilateral meetings, according to the report.
China and India have maintained diplomatic engagement with both Russia and Ukraine and have periodically expressed support for efforts aimed at achieving a negotiated settlement. Moscow has repeatedly said it is open to dialogue while emphasizing its own conditions for a resolution.
