President Ilham Aliyev gifts Karabakh horse to Turkmen leader

On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the Jidir Duzu plain in the city of Shusha.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev presented a Karabakh horse named "Mard" to the Turkmen head of state during their meeting at this historic location.

The Karabakh horse is a mountain-steppe racing horse breed native to Azerbaijan, historically renowned for its endurance, speed, and unique golden-chestnut coat. The breed holds significant cultural and historical importance in Azerbaijan, often serving as a symbol of national heritage and diplomacy. Shusha, known as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has been the site of numerous high-level diplomatic visits and cultural events since its liberation, underscoring the city's restoration as a hub for international engagement and regional cooperation.
