On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the first residential complex constructed in the city of Shusha.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Aydin Karimov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, briefed the President of Turkmenistan on the details of the complex.
It was noted that the foundation of the complex, which covers an area of nearly 8 hectares, was laid by the head of state in 2021. The development comprises twenty-three buildings housing 450 apartments, ranging from one-room to five-room units. The complex currently accommodates former internally displaced persons, as well as public sector employees working in various government agencies in Shusha. Extensive landscaping and urban development work have been carried out to ensure a comfortable living environment for residents.
Shusha, often referred to as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has been a focal point of the country's large-scale reconstruction and restoration efforts following the liberation of the Garabagh region. The city is undergoing a comprehensive revitalization process aimed at restoring its historical significance and infrastructure, with the construction of modern residential complexes serving as a key component of the government's strategy to facilitate the return of former residents and support the city's growing administrative and cultural functions.
