Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he does not support prolonging the ongoing war with the United States, but stressed that the country must improve its preparedness for upcoming developments and strengthen its resistance capabilities.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Pezeshkian made the remarks at a meeting with university rectors.
He said a course should be pursued to strengthen resistance without forcing the country into negotiations with the enemy under unfavorable conditions.
The president said universities should assist the government in this regard.
“I do not support the continuation of the war, but we must strengthen the country's resistance amid the processes ahead,” Pezeshkian said.
Pezeshkian stressed the importance of carrying out economic interventions in line with the conditions facing society.
According to him, otherwise, the measures taken could produce harmful rather than beneficial results.
The Iranian president also emphasized the importance of using the potential of students from Generation Z to help resolve the country's problems.
He said students should be engaged in solving the country's problems instead of joining protests.
“As president, I have no political ties with anyone. I will accept everyone and all political views that help us resolve the country's problems,” Pezeshkian added.
Generation Z generally refers to people born from the late 1990s through the early 2010s, a demographic that has become increasingly prominent in public and political discussions in Iran and elsewhere.
