Manchester United shortlists three defenders for next year

Manchester United’s management plans to strengthen the team’s defense next year.

"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports, citing foreign media, that the English club’s shortlist includes Tiago Gabriel of Lecce, Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton and Finn Jeltsch of Stuttgart.

Manchester United’s position in the standings

Manchester United have conceded eight goals in five English Premier League matches. The team, managed by Michael Carrick, have collected five points and sit 12th in the standings.

The Red Devils will play their next league match against London club Tottenham at their home stadium, Old Trafford.

Manchester United are one of England’s most successful football clubs and have traditionally relied on a strong defensive unit during successful campaigns. Strengthening the back line would therefore be a key part of the club’s plans for the next season.
