Qremin Tramp üzərində təsiri: Ukrayna siyasətində pərdəarxası rol

The late Senator Lindsey Graham is reported to have played a significant role in shaping the position of US President Donald Trump regarding the conflict in Ukraine. According to reports from the The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Graham's efforts were instrumental in maintaining a degree of balance in President Trump's policy toward the conflict.

Sources indicate that US lawmakers and European officials participating in international summits have specifically highlighted Graham's strategic approach. They suggest that the senator influenced the tone of meetings held between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

It is noted that Graham's strategy involved conducting behind-the-scenes negotiations and advocating for Ukraine's interests amidst President Trump's shifting positions. Representative Michael McCaul stated that Graham's personal influence and persistence were key factors in President Trump's decision to continue supporting Ukraine.

McCaul noted that the frequent golf outings between President Trump and Graham provided ample opportunity for discussing various political matters. "They played a lot of golf together, and whether it was a nine-hole or an eighteen-hole game, they had plenty of time for discussions," McCaul said.

The relationship between the two figures was characterized by a unique blend of personal camaraderie and political alignment. Historically, golf diplomacy has been a recurring theme in American politics, allowing leaders to engage in informal, high-stakes discussions away from the formal constraints of the White House. Previously, Politico reported that following Graham's passing, President Trump lost a key political ally in navigating Senate relations and advancing legislative initiatives.
