Police officers in the Siyazan district of Azerbaijan have seized nearly six kilograms of various narcotics during a successful anti-drug operation. The operation resulted in the removal of a significant quantity of illegal substances from circulation, targeting local distribution networks within the region.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Siyazan District Police Department detained 40-year-old Sh. Bayramova, a previously convicted individual suspected of organizing illegal drug trafficking. During the search, officers recovered approximately six kilograms of marijuana, a substantial amount of heroin, the psychotropic substance methamphetamine, and 120 pregabalin pills. A criminal case has been initiated, and a court-ordered arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect.
Azerbaijan continues to intensify its domestic efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking and the spread of psychotropic substances. The Ministry of Internal Affairs frequently conducts such operations across Azerbaijan to prevent the transit and local sale of narcotics. These measures are part of a broader national strategy to ensure public safety and reduce drug-related crimes in regional districts like Siyazan, which remains a priority for law enforcement agencies.
