Russian President Vladimir Putin did not receive a birthday telegram from U.S. President Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this in comments to RIA Novosti.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Peskov said no official congratulatory message had arrived from the U.S. administration, adding: “There was no congratulatory telegram from Trump, and there is none.”
U.S. President Donald Trump had told reporters at the White House that he planned to call and congratulate his Russian counterpart on his birthday. Trump also said Washington intended, through its mediation efforts, to help secure a peaceful resolution to what he described as the next — and ninth — armed conflict in the near future.
On October 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Trump for his consistent efforts toward a diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine crisis and highlighted the longstanding, constructive relationship between the two countries’ leaders.
