Israeli artillery struck several areas in southern Lebanon on Thursday, while Israeli drones flew at low altitude over Tyre and its surroundings, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The agency said artillery fire targeted Mansouri in South Governorate in the morning and later hit the Zibqin Valley in Nabatieh Governorate.

Before dawn, shelling also targeted areas around Haddatha and Baraachit, as well as the Zibqin Valley, according to the NNA. Artillery fire hit Haddatha alongside heavy machine-gun fire directed toward the town, it added.

The NNA reported that drones were seen flying at low altitude over Tyre and nearby areas but provided no further details.

Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have continued despite a framework agreement signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26. Israel continues to occupy areas in the south, some held for decades and others seized during more recent wars and military operations.

The agreement provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the deployment of the Lebanese army in areas vacated by Israeli forces.

Since March 2, Israel’s war on Lebanon has killed at least 4,386 people, injured 12,413 and displaced more than 1 million, according to Lebanese authorities.
