A Palestinian woman was killed and her husband and two children were injured on Thursday when Israeli artillery struck their tent northwest of Gaza City, a medical source said.

Medical staff at Al-Shifa Hospital received the body of Ahlam Mubarak, 30, and treated her husband and two children after the shelling near the Olympic Stadium in the Amer Project area, the source told Anadolu Agency. The husband was in serious condition.

The attack took place on the third anniversary of the start of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and amid continued violations of a ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.

Witnesses said Israeli naval vessels opened fire and shelled the sea off Gaza City. In the southern Gaza Strip, local sources said Israeli forces carried out two demolitions of residential buildings and other structures in areas under their control northeast of Khan Younis.

The demolitions coincided with heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles toward homes in the surrounding area, the sources said.

As of Wednesday, Israeli ceasefire violations had killed 1,467 Palestinians and injured 5,161, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Since October 2023, more than 74,200 Palestinians have been killed and over 175,200 injured in Gaza, while about 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to Palestinian authorities.
