Kremlin says transfer of Turkey’s S-400 systems is under discussion

The possible transfer of S-400 air defense systems stationed in Turkey to another country is on Russia’s agenda.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov made the remarks.

He said relevant work was under way on the issue and contacts between the parties were continuing.

“This issue is on the agenda, relevant work is being carried out and appropriate contacts are taking place,” the Kremlin official said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan earlier said Ankara was continuing talks with all parties on the re-export of the S-400 systems.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously said Moscow could agree to the transfer of the S-400 systems from Turkey to a friendly country.
