British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that despite external pressures and political statements, he will act solely within the framework of the country's national interests.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that while commenting on US President Donald Trump's views regarding the possibility of the United States withdrawing from NATO, Keir Starmer emphasized that the organization remains the world's most effective military alliance and has ensured the security of its members for decades. "Firstly, NATO is the most effective military alliance the world has ever seen; it has provided our security for decades, and we are fully committed to NATO," he said.

The head of the British government added that despite the pressure and all the noise, he will make decisions based on the national interests of the United Kingdom. Furthermore, he added that Great Britain will not be drawn into the conflict in the Middle East: "That is why I have made it absolutely clear that this is not our war, and we have no intention of getting involved in it," the Prime Minister noted.

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump has declared that he is seriously considering the possibility of the country's withdrawal from NATO. He explained his position by citing NATO's refusal to join operations by Israel and the United States against Iran.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), established in 1949, serves as a cornerstone of Western collective defense, with the United Kingdom being one of its founding members and a leading contributor to its military capabilities. Prime Minister Starmer's remarks come at a pivotal moment for transatlantic relations, as the alliance navigates shifting geopolitical priorities and internal debates over defense spending and regional involvement. Historically, the UK has maintained a "special relationship" with the US while simultaneously positioning itself as a key pillar of European security through its nuclear deterrent and strategic presence in the North Atlantic.
