Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has criticized Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Baghaei said that, instead of condemning what he described as the United States’ overt aggression and military rhetoric, Carney was trying to please Washington.
According to Baghaei, the Canadian prime minister presented the threat to destroy Iran merely as the use of “the language of war.”
“Mark Carney must understand that time is so ruthless that the shelter of illusions and hypocrisy cannot last forever. A day will certainly come when those who seek refuge in the long shadow of US pressure and believe they can protect themselves from the grip of power by imitating the language of the powerful will face reality,” Baghaei said.
The Iranian official added that, in such circumstances, they would see that Iran, which they had sought to suppress in collusion with empires, had preserved the flame of its struggle against oppression.
Earlier, speaking in the United States, Mark Carney described Iran as one of the greatest threats in the modern world and said Tehran posed an existential threat to Israel and its allies.
Asked about comments concerning Iran made by US President Donald Trump in his address to the UN General Assembly, Carney replied that “there is a war, and he is speaking the language of war.”
Iran and Western countries have repeatedly clashed over Tehran’s regional policies, its nuclear program and its relations with Israel. Statements by senior officials on both sides often reflect the broader diplomatic tensions between Iran, the United States and their allies.
