President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Shusha Vocational Education Center after its major renovation on November 7.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev briefed the head of state on the facilities created at the center.
Major renovation work at the Shusha Vocational Education Center began in March 2025 on the order of the ministry.
The two-storey academic building has capacity for 360 students and includes nine workshops, three training areas, a workshop for making and restoring musical instruments, five classrooms, an art room, physics and chemistry laboratories, a laboratory assistant’s room, computer and military training rooms, as well as a cafeteria.
The center’s five-storey dormitory houses an assembly hall, a technical creativity area, workshops, a library, including an electronic library, classrooms and bedrooms, recreation and fitness rooms, and a dining facility.
One of the key priorities of the state policy pursued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is the development of human capital and the establishment of modern education infrastructure. In recent years, the construction of hundreds of new school buildings across Azerbaijan, the major renovation of existing educational institutions and their equipment with the latest technology have expanded opportunities to provide young people with education that meets high standards. The Shusha Vocational Education Center is significant in this regard. It will become an important platform for training local skilled workers and professionals who will directly contribute to the extensive restoration and reconstruction work in the region.
