President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Emergency Department at the Garabagh University Clinic on November 7.
The clinic’s rector, Shahin Bayramov, and its director general, Samir Babayev, briefed the head of state on the facilities created there, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
Officials said existing engineering and utility systems had been rebuilt in line with the approved architectural and planning design, and the department had been organized to meet modern standards.
The Emergency Department has modern functional zones to support the efficient admission, examination and treatment of patients. These include resuscitation and pediatric areas, a ward, rooms for medical services and daily operations, and storage for medicines. Its medical equipment and modern engineering and utility systems expand its capabilities and support the efficient delivery of medical services. Ambulances equipped for resuscitation and intensive care are available to transfer patients who have undergone an initial assessment to other facilities when medically indicated.
The clinic currently has 70 inpatient beds, including five intensive-care beds. The Emergency Department is also planned to have 19 beds and five operating rooms. The facility will therefore be able to serve 70 inpatients and 19 emergency patients at the same time.
The medical facility is projected to employ a total of 230 to 250 staff under its 2027 development plan.
The University Clinic’s main mission is not only to provide medical services, but also to develop as a medical center combining modern medical education, clinical practice and, in the future, research activities.
