Azerbaijan will continue to mobilize all available resources to determine the fate of people whose whereabouts remain unknown.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in an address to participants in the “Fourth International Conference within the framework of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons.”
The head of state said that no missing Azerbaijani citizen is forgotten and that determining their fate remains a constant focus of the state:
“Providing comprehensive support and care to every family affected by this tragedy and sharing their pain is our moral obligation. The historic Victory we achieved in the Patriotic War and the liberation of our lands from occupation have opened up new opportunities to search for our missing citizens. Today, the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has expanded its activities and is carrying out intensive measures to establish the whereabouts of missing citizens and identify mass graves.”
The State Commission’s work focuses on clarifying the fate of missing people and locating mass graves. The issue remains a priority for Azerbaijan, particularly for families who have waited years for information about relatives who disappeared during the conflict.
